about

"Walk On" was written in 2011.
This song was inspired by the children in Tanzania with and on behalf of whom I worked through Journeys of Solutions since 2009. JOS continues to support 11 students and their educational endeavors.

lyrics

I wonder where this dusty road will lead.
Do you know you’ve got the world at your feet?
Just walk on.

I’ll teach you to tie the laces of your shoes,
Fold your collar down, walk you to school.
I’ll show you how to dream.

When you stumble, even if you fall, pick yourself back up stand tall.
Don’t let your shadow block your view.

Despite the wind upon your cheeks,
Don’t turn back, don’t blink!
No, just walk on.

Though their words try to cut like knives, you’re beautiful.
Don’t give into their lies. Hold your head up high.
Oh child, keep your eyes on the sky!

When you stumble, even if you fall pick yourself back up stand tall.
Your shadow will remain two steps behind as your doubts fade.
Let them fade away.

I wonder where this dusty road will lead.
Oh you’ve got the world at your feet.

Just walk on, on.
Just walk on, on.
Just walk on, on.
