about

"Grand Street" was written in 2007 following an evening commute home after work on the L train. A rather attractive, yet shy blue-eyed gentleman and I flirtatiously glanced at each other throughout the entire commute until his stop suddenly arrived.

lyrics

Don’t hide your eyes
Please steal another glance.
This might be our last chance before those sliding doors beckon you.

Our eyes meet, I blush and look away
And pretend to read the words on my page,
As your eyes linger.

I wanna be lost in the labyrinth of those blue eyes,
No need to be found.
Don’t put a ransom on my name. I need no rescuing tonight.

Her voice, her interruption-
An unwarranted abduction.
Suddenly, you’re gone.

And two words are all I hear
As they, they echo in my ears,
Her voice lingers.

“Grand Street” the mosaic reads
“Grand Street,” it’s not so grand to me, no no.

All I need is to drown in the ocean of your gaze.
Let’s escape, let’s escape to the maze.

To be lost in the labyrinth of those blue eyes,
No need to be found.
Don’t put a ransom on my name.
I need no rescuing tonight, no
I need no rescuing tonight.

“Grand Street” the mosaic reads
“Grand Street,” it’s not so grand, not so grand.
Don’t hide your eyes, no. Don’t hide your eyes.
Don’t hide your eyes, please steal another glance.
That was our last chance.
My heart lingers.
